Description:

Another boarding school, sports and adventure story from the prolific Ralph Henry Barbour. Schoolmates Gilbert ("Gil") Benton, room-mate Perry Oldham Kirkland Endicott ("Poke") and their chums Jeffrey Latham and James Hazard (whose mother oversees the boarding house where they live) attend Crofton Academy. One of the teachers, Mr. Hanks, subsequently rents a room from Mrs. Hazard. Will the new resident dampen the activities of the boys?

A mix of study, adventure, football, canoeing and other hijinks ensue, in typical Barbour style. [Suggest a different description.]
