When not in study or sports, the boys have a number of adventures and mishaps. Kendall lands in hot water when he overhears a plot against Yardley Hall by members of arch-rival Broadwood Academy. His plan is to foil the plot, but in so doing he is caught and the circumstantial evidence of Kendall being the culprit weighs heavily against him. Then, just days before the big game with Broadwood, football captain Dan Vinton is kidnapped!
