Author Bio for Abbott, Edwin Abbott
Edwin Abbott Abbott (1838–1926) was an English theologian and writer. Born in London he studied at St. John's College in Cambridge. He excelled at classics, mathematics and theology. He became headmaster at the City of London School at the age of 26 and continued teaching until he retired in 1889. He is best known for his book, "Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions", published in 1884. It describes a two-dimensional world and explores the nature of dimensions.
