Author Bio for Chesterton, G. K. (Gilbert Keith)
G.K. (Gilbert Keith) Chesterton (1874-1936) was an English writer and literary critic. Born in London, England, he made his early name in writing as a journalist. He became known for his anti-imperialist attitudes which also included attacks on big business, technology and the monolithic state. These thoughts are reflected in his novels starting with The Napoleon of Notting Hill, published in 1904. He also wrote literary and art criticism but he is perhaps best known for his popular Father Brown detective series, an unassuming East Anglian priest who solves crime using intuitive methods.
