Author Bio for Chesterton, G. K. (Gilbert Keith)
G.K. (Gilbert Keith) Chesterton (May 29, 1874-June 14, 1936) was an English writer, philosopher, literary and art critic, and a Catholic theologian.
He wrote as a columnist for 3 papers including his own G.K.’ s Weekly, 4,000 essays, 200 short stories, hundreds of poems, and 80 books including stories about his most popular fictional priest-detective Father Brown. Beginning in 1932 until his death, he was one of the BBC’s most popular radio talk guests with over 40 talks a year.
His writings displayed wit and humor. He used paradox while making serious comments on the world, government, politics, economics, philosophy and theology. His writing even converted a young agnostic, C.S. Lewis, to Christianity.
