| Description: | A modern drama set within the Abbey of Mont St. Michel-a glory of mediaeval architecture. It is both a shrine and a fortress that is set boldly on a great rock in the Atlantic Ocean. At low tide the causeway to the French mainland is passable; at high tide the water submerges it, and the Abbey becomes an island. [Suggest a different description.] |
