Description:

The summer story of a family and the kind of boat we'd all like to own, a combination houseboat and store from which they make their living, captures the feeling of the Canadian coast north of Vancouver and happy hard working times. The Brownes, Danforth a retired actor and his two children, 17 year old Royal and 14 year old Wally, own the Argosy. Their third summer peddling goods up the coast brings something good to them all, for their way is a varied one, in and out of inlet towns and settlements. Most important for Royal is her meeting with Eric Ward who owns his own boat, turns out to be Royal's first love and introduces Wally to the possibilities of a career in lumbering. And later they meet the West Wind, a whole boatload of travelling players whose ship-side productions are a fertile field for Dan's ingenuity. All's well that ends well.--Kirkus Reviews.
