The Maple Leaf, Volume 1, No. 1, July 1852

The Maple Leaf was a Canadian juvenile monthly magazine published from July 1852 to December 1854. It was the second juvenile magazine published in Canada and was written for both boys and girls and their families. In all, a total of 30 issues were published.

This opening issue includes stories: Leopold of Brunswick and his Writing Master; African Chief; Anecdote of Lord Nelson; Column of Freedom; the beginning of Uncle Tom's Cabin; and poetry and music. [Suggest a different description.]
