Paris! Paris in June! Paris under the night sky! Dejeuner in the Bois; dinner on Montmartre; ices, and such ices, any time of the day or night, at the Café de la Paix, the centre of the world. No wonder Miss Brickley, secretary to the famous woman detective, Madame Storey, was thrilled at the prospect of accompanying her employer. It ought to have been a vacation trip, but turned out to be something more strenuous. Almost too strenuous, in fact, but Miss Brickley at any rate came near blessing the little widow who had asked Madame Storey to investigate the mysterious death of her millionaire husband. Here are new exploits of the famous Madame Storey in a new setting, revealing her more fascinating, more ingenious than ever.

Author Bio for Footner, Hulbert

Author Image

Hulbert Footner (1879–1944) was a Canadian writer of non-fiction and detective fiction.

His most successful creation was the beautiful and brilliant Madame Rosika Storey and her plain assistant who explains the evolving solutions to her boss’ cases. His Madame Storey mysteries fit the flapping 1920s like the long lizard gloves that graced her arms and did well supporting his traveling family’s lifestyle. His Rosika Storey cases appeared in Argosy All-Story Weekly every year from 1922 through 1935.--Wikipedia.
