Author Bio for Taylor, Katharine Haviland
Katharine Haviland-Taylor (1891-1941) was an American author who wrote short stories. She was born in Mankato, Minnesota. Due to poor health she was home-schooled. She began to write at age 17. Her first story, Cecilia of the Pink Roses, was first published in a magazine and then in book form. Her family travelled and lived abroad in Florence, Italy and then in London, England. The family eventually settled in York. She wrote about 20 books several of which were set in the region of York. one of her stories, "The Failure" was made into a movie in 1933 called "One Man's Journey". In 1938 it was remade as another movie called "A Man to Remember".
