This book provides a summary of the major and minor gods of Roman and Greek mythology. It is written in Latin, with the aim to make Ovid's Metamorphoses understandable to young students. The author, Joseph de Jouvancy (1643-1719) was a Jesuit priest, very famous and influential during his life, and known for his writings on classical topics including several school editions of Latin authors. The text is based on a Spanish edition of 1877, and consequently the footnotes are written in that language. [Suggest a different description.]
