Author Bio for Doughty, Francis Worcester
Francis W. Doughty (1850-1917) was an American screenwriter and author. Born in Brooklyn, he is best known for his "dime-store" novels, of which he purportedly wrote over 1,500. He specialized in writing detective stories and crime fiction. One of his signature story tricks was to repeat the title of the book in the last sentence of the story. (The Dime Novel Companion)
