Author Bio for LaRue, Hubert
François Alexandre Hubert LaRue (1833-1881) was a French-Canadian writer. Born in Saint-Jean, de-l'Île-d'Orléans (an island just down river from Quebec City), he studied medicine and worked as a physician but also found time to write. He was one of the founders of Les Soirées canadiennes, a magazine dedicated to local writers. He wrote a number of books and articles including "Le Voyage sentimental sur la rue Saint-Jean" which we host here at Faded Page. (MacMillan Dictionary of Canadian Biography)
